Yenikapı Ferry Port
Yenikapı Ferry Port
Istanbul’s Yenikapı Ferry Port (Feribot Terminali), 1 km (6/10 mile) southeast of Aksaray Square (map), is an important transport nexus for fast catamaran ferryboats to Yalova (for Iznik/Nicaea and Bursa), Bursa (Güzelyalı), and Bandırma (for the Marmara and Aegean coasts, and trains to Izmir).
Fast catamaran “Sea Bus” ferries zoom to and from various points in the Istanbul metropolitan area, including Bostancı, Bakırköy and Kadıköy, and also across the Sea of Marmara to Yalova, Bursa and Bandırma, as well as to Sea of Marmara ports such as Armutlu, Mudanya, Avsa, Marmara island, Cınarcık, Esenköy and Küçük Kumla. Here’s more on Sea of Marmara car and passenger ferries.
The station for Marmaray trains and the M1 and M2 Metro lines is a 1-km (6/10-mile, 10-minute) walk northwest of the ferry terminal. Follow the signs.
You can then ride the Marmaray to Sirkeci (for the T1 Bagcılar-Kabatas tram, Eminönü ferries, and Sirkeci hotels), to Üsküdar on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus, and Ayrılık Cesmesi (for connection to the M4 Kadıköy-Kartal Metro line to Sabiha Gökcen Airport).
You can ride the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro line to connect with the M1 Yenikapı-Aksaray-Atatürk Airport Metro line and T1 Bagcılar-Kabatas tram); the Golden Horn (Halic), Şişhane (for Tünel Square and its hotels), Taksim Square (for Taksim, Cihangir, Talimhane and Elmadag hotels), and north to Hacıosman, almost all the way to Tarabya on the northern Bosphorus.
